Sales Associate

Halie’s Boutique is a high-end boutique in West Cary. We are a gift shop, home décor and accessories store that caters to the local community. HB is a boutique that bring’s Northern Trends and Southern hospitality into one store. We carry a fine line of items that one can see on celebrities and NY finest wearing and buying for themselves, while still doing onsite monogramming for our True Southern girls.

Summary of Position Responsibilities

The Sales Associate will serve as the primary customer interface all product inquires, sales transactions, upselling techniques, and merchandising in the store.

Sales associates are required to work in a team environment, and thus, they must have effective interpersonal communication skills. You must maintain a presentable and well-dressed appearance with a professional demeanor, as you will be the first point of contact for a customer. You must have the ability to adhere to company policies and procedures and interact with customers based upon the owner’s expectations.

You must be a team player. Sales associates are required to maintain positive relationships with their co-workers and provide assistance to other co-workers, which is an integral part of being in a team environment. Sales associates may also be required to interact positively and professionally with employees.

Sales Associate Job Requirements:

  • Flexible schedule that will include nights, weekends, opening and closing shifts
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills with an outgoing and friendly personality that will great customers in a positive manner to welcome them to the store
  • Computer literate as it relates to operating a POS system and laptop/Ipad
  • Clean working environment
  • Ensure that all merchandise is placed in their respective areas and displays are organized and visible
  • Assist in the nightly stock replenishment
  • Excellent customer service skills that will help customers locate merchandise or find suitable alternatives.
  • Participating in periodic team meetings.
  • Being knowledgeable about the benefits and uses of each product
  • Communicating with the store manager and assistant store manager, regarding customer concerns and employee matters
  • Maintaining an enthusiastic and upbeat personality.
  • Providing honest and positive feedback to customers regarding the best products that fit the customers’ expectations.
  • Promote sales – in store and social media
  • Handling sales transaction which will include operating the point of sale system

Preferred Experience

  • 2+ years in the retail industry
  • Marketing background that includes social media
  • Monogramming skills that include an embroidery machine and/or vinyl machine

Physical Requirements:

Sales associates will spend a considerable amount of time standing and walking throughout their workday. They will work directly with the public, and move about throughout the store and communicate product information to incoming customers. Sales associates are also responsible for stocking merchandise, moving stock and retrieving merchandise from store shelves.

Marketing Intern

We will carry a fine line of items that one can see celebrities and NY finest wearing and buying for themselves, while still doing onsite monogramming for our True Southern girls.

Summary of Position Responsibilities

The Marketing or Business candidate should have an interest in business, marketing, design and/or textile industry. This candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with extensive knowledge of Web and social media. Photoshop, PowerPoint, Word and Excel experience is a bonus, and will be considered when choosing the best applicant for this internship position.

Marketing or Business Interns are required to work in a team environment, and thus, they must have effective interpersonal communication skills. Job Requirements:

  • Assist in the creation of signage, circulars, mock-ups, e-mail campaigns, on line promotion, etc.
  • Assist in the distribution or delivery of marketing materials
  • Assist with fulfillment of marketing offers
  • Perform analysis of marketing and sales data
  • Seek and analyze competitor marketing and sales materials both on and offline
  • Open and sort mail, which will include filing, scanning, etc.
  • Enter contact information into contact management systems
  • Provide support to social media efforts

Required experience

  • College level candidate who is majoring in Marketing, Business or Textiles
  • Web and Social Media expertise

Preferred Experience

  • 1+ year working in the retail industry
